Reviews and Recommendations in Selected Countries and in Specific Areas of Concern

(3.3.2015) WIDE Austria has worked out an analysis of the reviews of the implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action presented by for UN member countries, namely by Georgia, India, Croatia and Ethiopia.

The focus lies on the areas of critical concern A (Women and Poverty) and I (Human Rights of Women). This analysis results in recommendations for change which underscore the fact that positive developments have been achieved, but that considerable gaps exacerbated by the economic crisis remain and that the efforts to improve women’s situation and to achieve gender-equality must be considerably strengthened.
