WIDE Austria

WIDE is an Austrian network of NGOs and individuals who engage for women´s rights and feminist perspectives in development policies and humanitarian aid.

WIDE Austria was formed as a network in 1992 and registered as a non-profit association in 2003 (ZVR registration number 626905553).

Our office is based in: Margaretenstr. 166, 1050 Vienna, Austria.

Working structure

The elected WIDE board provides strategical guidance for the work of WIDE and holds the overall legal and financial responsibility. The coordination of the daily work is shared by two staff members. Much of WIDE´s work is the result of permanent and ad-hoc working groups, with participants from among the WIDE members. Regular network meetings are open to all members; they take place five times a year.

Beyond the close cooperation with its Austrian members, WIDE cooperates with different platforms in Austria, Europe and internationally. Among others, WIDE Austria is a member of the European WIDE+ network, and – via the Austrian Platform Global Responsibility – a member of CONCORD, the European NGO confederation for relief and development.
